Just off the bustling A38, 3.5 miles south of Bristol International Airport, a large brown tourism sign for Aldwick Court Farm & Vineyard directs the turning at the quaintly named ‘Cowslip Green’. Follow the un-posted Aldwick Lane as it winds its narrow course beneath a tunnel of ancient hedgerow, to emerge under the hilltop gaze of Grade II listed Aldwick Court. Your satnav will surrender at the Lodge leading on the left to the strawberry pink house, Woodlands. Yet metres ahead, a red pillar box marks a T-junction, and beyond it stretch serried rows of Homefield grape vines. Turn left there, and then immediately right through the walled gate and you’ve arrived at Aldwick Court Farm.

In an instant, the serenity, seclusion, and panoramic sweep of gardens, fields, and the magnificent Mendip Hills are revealed.

Aldwick appears in the Domesday Book as Alduic. From the Saxon ‘ald-wic’, it means ‘the old dairy farm’. How fitting that our 17th century stone-clad Old Barn should be a converted cow-shed! Its charm has been captured in the hand-dressed stone and reclaimed roof tiles of the 2013 New Barn. The two barns connect at the main entrance, an oak-floored reception area. Behind this lies the characterful cellar bar. Both Barns front onto south-facing terraces, offering generous al fresco space in fine weather.

We take pride in commending Aldwick Court Farm’s location, layout, and ambience. But we fully appreciate that our greatest asset is the high standard of hospitality we deliver. Attentive, efficient, and responsive, our personal service has proved the principal source of praise bestowed by delighted clients.
